On November 7, 2019, at the invitation of Hainan Provincial Government, Wu Muye, as the Goodwill Ambassador for Hainan International Tourism and Culture, gave a piano recital at the Daguan Theater of Zendai Himalayas Center in Shanghai. He indulged the audience with a selection of Schubert impromptus in the first half of the recital, and performed classical Chinese folk songs in the second. The recital attracted around 2000 audience from all over the world, who burst into thunderous applause after the perfect interpretation of each piano piece by the Gold Finger Wu Muye. In the cheers of the audience, Wu Muye returned to the stage with an encore of My Motherland, which deeply affected the audience.
The stage featured artistically-designed lighting and backdrop. Wu’s performance was captured by 6-channel and 40 X HD cameras and projected to the backdrop, immersing audience in the picturesque music. The recital applies cutting-edge technologies in an unprecedented way: unmanned camera provided a 360° view of the Gold Finger smoothly flowing across the keys.
In April this year, Wu Muye was appointed as the “Goodwill Ambassador for Hainan International Tourism and Culture” by the Hainan Provincial Government to promote Hainan culture and tourism internationally. As music has no borders, Wu tells the story and culture of Hainan through his piano performance.
On December 24, Wu Muye will bring his new recital tour featuring the complete works of Chopin Waltzes to Shanghai, which makes him the one and only world’s top pianist who gives three recitals in Shanghai within one year.
