Wu Muye

Wu Muye, international piano artist, is heralded as the Gold Finger by the French Newspaper Le Monde. He was awarded the Perfect Piano Performing Artist Medal by the French Ministry of Culture in 2009, making him the only Chinese young pianist who has ever received such an honor in the Parisian piano world.

Wu started learning piano at the age of four, and gave performances on the stage aged five. At 11, he was admitted to the fifth grade of Central Conservatory of Music Primary School. Wu Muye went to Paris to pursue music education aged 14. He studied with Jacques Rouvier at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP). After the undergraduate course, he continued to pursue studies in chamber music at CNSMDP. In 2009, Wu Muye obtained his PhD from CNSMDP with the honor of Perfect Pianist.

On June 1,2019, honored as the Artist of China for Global Philanthropy at Youth Power· Next Generation Influencers for Global Philanthropy Gala.
On April 4, 2019, appointed as International Ambassador for Hainan Tourism and Culture by the Hainan Provincial Government.
On October 26, 2018, won the Most Influential International Artist Award at Ifeng Fashion Gala.
On October 25, 2018, received the Influence of the Times Award by L’OFFICIEL.
On February 13, 2018, honored as the International Cultural Exchange Envoy for Sanya.
On November 18, 2017, appointed as “WHO China Special Envoy for Health” by the World Health Organization.
On September 4, 2016, performed at the opening ceremony of G20. Hangzhou Summit and received the “Outstanding Contribution Award”.

On December 12, 2019, Wu Muye’s Piano Recital World Tour “Complete Works of Chopin Waltzes” was premiered at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing.

On May 1, 2018, Wu played Yellow River in front of Yongning Gate of Xi‘an City Wall.

On October 22, 2017, as WHO China Special Envoy for Health, Wu played My Motherland at WHO headquarters.
On November 17, 2017, performed at the BRICS Leaders Meeting.
On September 4, 2016, Wu performed at the opening ceremony of the G20 Hangzhou Summit.
On November 12th, 2014, at the state banquet hosted for U.S. President Barack Obama during APEC, Wu played the Chinese folk song Autumn Moon Over the Calm Lake.
On January 27, 2014, Wu gave a piano recital at the ceremony of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France.

Philanthropy

In addition to his music endeavors, Wu Muye is also active in public welfare activities. He was appointed by the World Health Organization as the WHO China Special Envoy for Health, advocating for health-related topics, raising public awareness of various diseases, and practicing a healthy lifestyle.

On World No Tobacco Day, May 31 2019, Wu participated in an anti-tobacco campaign.
In June 2018, Wu participated in a campaign on the theme of ”Eliminating Discrimination and Disseminating Correct Messages about AIDS”.
In 2017, Wu took part in the “See the World with Me” campaign to travel with HIV-affected children.
On October 22, 2017, Wu Muye visited the World Health Organization headquarters in Geneva and delivered a speech to call on the public to treat HIV-infected people fairly.
On November 18, 2017, Wu was appointed as “WHO China Special Envoy for Health” by the World Health Organization.
