On April 4, 2019, Wu Muye was appointed as Goodwill Ambassador for Hainan Tourism & Culture by the Hainan Provincial Government. As an influential and reputed international pianist, Wu would use his influence to promote Hainan’s culture and tourism to the world. Born and growing up in Hainan, Wu had a special bond with Hainan. In the CCTV Spring Festival Gala 2018, Wu played the New Silk Road at the Hainan sub-venue. He is also the international cultural envoy for Sanya. Wu said, “Hainan’s is getting more environmental-friendly and international. I hope that there will be more opportunities to give performances in my hometown and contribute to the development of Hainan’s culture and art.”
