Pianist Wu Muye was invited to perform in 2018 CCTV Spring Festival Gala- the most viewed TV show on earth. Acting as metaphor of “ Pianist on the Sea” on a beautiful beach transformed into a stage – in Sanya, Hainan, China.
Wu Muye played the “New Silk Road”, showing his perfect skill as “Golden Fingers” – a surname given by the French newspapers Le Monde. His performance has been voted afterwards by Internet users as one of the most beautiful during CCTV Spring Festival Gala, in addition to the song “ Times” performed by Chinese iconic singers Fay Wong and Na Ying.
Moreover, Wu’s performance exceeded the audience’s expectation. Many Internet users said, “what a charming and talented pianist! It was really romantic to see him playing on the sea!”, “This is absolutely among the world’s top high-quality performances”, and ” This is what we call a combination of artistic charm and great talents!”
Wu’s playing inherits the fine and delicate touch of the French music conservatory. He is rooted in the music in China, and the 15 years of living in France, studying in one of the world best music academy – Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique -, has cultivated his deep love and respect for the art of piano. All of the training and experiences turned this young talented soul into a great pianist with the most artistic attainment. Performing the “New Silk Road” in this year’s gala as the representative of Chinese pianists, Wu has successfully established his name as the top national pianist, and he is undoubtedly worth the surname of “Gold Finger”.
