On August 15th, 2018, Wu Muye’s Piano Recital World Tour in commemoration of the 190th anniversary of Schubert’s death was premiered in Beijing. As the first stop of the world tour, the Beijing recital sold out as early as the week before it started, and all seats were occupied. The recital attracted many celebrities, including actors Wang Jia, Lin Yongjian and Huang Shengyi; hosts Kang Hui and Zhu Dan, as well as supermodel Zhang Zilin, which proved Wu’s popularity and strong influence. It was the first time that Schubert’s Complete Impromptus were fully presented in the National Grand Theatre, and it was also unprecedented for Chinese pianists to give a recital dedicated to Schubert’s Complete Impromptus.
